Writer's Block: Adult Onset

Putting legal definitions aside, at what age do you think someone can really be considered an adult?

It's like the question of when life begins, for me. It's a question of definitions that means nothing unless the person asking the question starts explaining why they're asking the question.

I mean, What are the consequences that are supposed to come with being an adult... old people get to legally touch them, they can enter into contracts, they can be sentenced to death. Even if there wasn't such variability in individual development, we might (if we had more time/interest) come up with different ages for different 'adult' activities.

And, 25. The answer is 25.
