Looking for a place
Looking for some Seattle information.

My board game group (boxcar gaming) is looking for a new place to have our board games on Wednesday nights. We have previously been gaming at the Wayward Coffeehouse on Tuesdays, but the change in game night in combination with Wayward's Wednesday activities means we have to find a new place.

The requirements of the new place are as follows.

1. Must have a large table or the ability to create large playing surfaces.
2. Must not play music so loud that you have to shout to be heard
3. Must supply a reasonable variety of edibles
4. Must be open till at least 10pm

It is proving to be a remarkably tall order.

I did not know you were playing somewhere so close to me.

I've played games at Zaina in Belltown before and it worked very well. It's open late, the food is good, and there is a bar. The service blows though.

Isn't it kind of dark?

I don't remember having any problems... I should have mentioned that it is also a hookah lounge though.

Vivace on Broadway, by Cal Anderson Park, has proven useful for similar purposes, but can be over-crowded depending on the point in the SCCC student schedule.

I would actually advise against Vivace. It can get really loud and finding a table is tough. Oh, and they're moving soon and will be closed for a couple of weeks.

You might try Fuel coffee (not much food though) in Montlake. Even better, if you're willing to be closer to downtown, is the Panama Hotel/Teahouse (http://www.yelp.com/biz/panama-hotel-tea-and-coffee-house-seattle#hrid:5Fae_3sEelIrduuLJeyEqg/query:panama) in the ID. It's pretty quiet, has a huge downstairs (where I think I saw some board games, so they must want people to hang out), some food, and it's not that busy.

See if there's a place where local knitting groups are meeting. They have most of the same requirements :D

5) Must not mind us staying for up to 4 hours having only made a single food purchase.

It looks like Zoka fulfills 2, 3, 4, and 5 at least; I still say we should scout it out and see if it hits 1 as well.
